Cool/Uncool

I'm still catching up on the EQII news and I'll tell you what I think is cool or uncool as I do. Let's start with the easy stuff.

Cool

The
second official EQII podcast was not just better than the first, it was markedly better. I criticized the initial podcast for being overly scripted and believe me it was. And I think the people at SOE realized it themselves.

So they did the right thing and changed it. The new, more casual format is clearly more entertaining and can still impart the necessary information. It also showed that the SOE crew are real people and a fairly funny lot. An official podcast like this is not a necessity, but it is a nice bonus.

Uncool

I don't know what
this is all about but I don't like it.

Cool

This "leaked alpha" video of EoF looks pretty good (although it takes a day and a half to load).

Uncool

No evil Fae? When did that happen? Well, I've just have to roleplay my Fae as good but extremely annoying.

Yah, they announced a couple of months ago that Fae would be "good" instead of "neutral." They said something about it being more ture to the lore or somesuch.

I personally believe that it's becuz they didn't want to have to change the character select screen to show all 24 classes if you start as a Fae.

How is that any different then you normal play style?

I think Blair scored with that Ogre. And I don't mind the Fae thing myself, if they made them still neutral it may have clashed with being an exile but it isn't like you can't turn evil anyways.

Part of the reason for "good" only fae may be to equal out the numbers of qeynosians vs. freeporters on pvp servers.

Aye, I sent some feedback about Fae being only good as well as EoF being for goodies too. Was getting a bit tired of the literal 'good' and 'evil' scenario being so set in stone and restricting your personal character development preferences.

In fact all I got back from a dev was an accusation that I was attempting online extortion (because I said I was losing interest in playing). Gave me good reason to cancel early :)
